How should peach trees be pruned after 5 years of planting?
Peach trees have entered adulthood after five years of planting, and the target tree shape should be maintained when pruning. For the main branches and lateral branches that are over-opened, the short section of the extended branches should be aggravated to promote the germination of more upright and lush branches, or the angle should be improved by using long branches. The shape of the branches is conical, while the umbrella shape is not conducive to light transmission. In addition, attention should also be paid to adjusting the spacing and density of fruiting branches in a branch group so as not to affect ventilation and light transmission (Figure 39).
