Baotou dialect is a modern Chinese dialect that spreads in Baotou area of Inner Mongolia and its adjacent areas.
The characteristic of Baotou dialect vocabulary is that there are many words that retain the ancient vernacular of Song and Yuan Dynasties. For example, adding "Xing" after nouns means "XX is there", which is very common in Yuan Qu. The word "tiger thorn" often appears in Yuan Qu, and it is still used in Baotou dialect today. The general spelling "Hulagai" is borrowed from Mongolian "thief".
