Grafting rootstock:
First, choose the rootstock, cactus is the best rootstock, especially cowtongue palm, because it has good plant height, good shape, strong trunk and strong support, which can make the grafted crab claw orchid droop freely, which is beneficial to viewing. Therefore, one year in advance, 1-2 healthy, tidy and beautiful sections of cowtongue palm can be selected for cutting, and one plant can be planted in each pot.
Grafting: The suitable grafting time of Crab Claw Orchid is from late March to mid-June, and from mid-September to mid-June.
Grafting should be carried out in sunny morning, so that rootstocks and scions contain more juice and the joints heal. At the same time, 2-3 deformed stem segments with straighter and thicker lower segments are selected as scions, and they are grafted with a sharp knife (shaving knife is enough).
First, the two sides of the base of the scion are obliquely cut into duckbill shapes. The section length is 1.5-2.5cm, which is easy to survive. Then, cut a knife longitudinally at the top of the rootstock, the width and depth of the knife edge are slightly larger than the cutting surface of the scion, and quickly insert the cut scion into the incision of the rootstock. After the scion is inserted into the incision of the rootstock, the scion is easy to swim because of the viscous liquid.
So fix it by hand for half a minute, and then connect the cactus and thorn prepared in advance through the rootstock scion in series, or fix it with a wooden clothes rack.
Put the connected flowerpot in a cool and ventilated place to avoid wind and rain (be careful not to touch the interface when watering), and it is expected to survive in about 20-30 days.
