1. Witness testimony only reinforces the evidence rules and cannot alone be used as a basis for determining the facts of the case. Therefore, witness testimony must be supported by other evidence. The reasons are as follows:
Article 69 of the Supreme People’s Court’s Several Regulations on Evidence in Civil Litigation: The following evidence cannot alone be used as a basis for determining the facts of the case:
(1) Written by a minor Testimony that is not commensurate with his age and mental status;
(2) Testimony given by a witness who has an interest in one party or his agent;
(3) There are doubts audio-visual materials;
(4) Copies and reproductions that cannot be verified with the originals and objects;
(5) Testimonies of witnesses who did not appear in court to testify without justifiable reasons.
