Hawthorn tree pruning mainly focuses on shaping, cultivating the backbone branches, adjusting the growth direction and angle of the backbone branches, and laying the foundation for the results. Young trees within 3 years of the growth period should be shortened and branches pruned. Not sparse;
Encourage the hawthorn tree to grow more strong branches, expand the crown, increase the flowering rate, and achieve early fruiting. The main and side branches should be shortened appropriately, and the middle branches with moderate growth should be left with room to grow. Increase the number of branches and fruit set of fruit trees, and appropriately thin out branches that are too dense and will compete with the backbone branches for nutrients.
Winter pruning mainly involves cutting off outer branches, and also pruning old branches. If the outer branches are too dense, it is easy to get no sunlight inside, causing them to die, so they need to be thinned and pruned. Old branches are often long branches and drooping branches, which have less yield and need to be renewed.

Growing environment
Hawthorn is highly adaptable and likes a cool, humid environment. It is both cold-resistant and high-temperature resistant, with temperatures ranging from -36 to 43°C. Can grow in between. It likes light but can tolerate shade. It is distributed in barren hills, sunny slopes, semi-sunny slopes and valleys. The slope is preferably 15 to 25 degrees.
It is drought-tolerant. When there is too much water, the branches and leaves tend to become leggy. The soil requirements are not strict, but it grows well in slightly acidic sandy loam soil with deep soil, fertile texture, loose texture and good drainage.
Produced in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Jiangsu. It is also distributed in North Korea and Soviet Siberia.
