Taojiang County, a county under the jurisdiction of Yiyang City, Hunan Province, is located in the north of central Hunan, in the lower reaches of Zishui, with a total area of ??2,068 square kilometers, and jurisdiction over 13 towns, 1 township, and 1 ethnic township. According to the seventh census data, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Taojiang County was 685,596.

In July 1951, the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and eleventh districts of Yiyang County were analyzed and Taojiang County was established. Taohuajiang Nuclear Power Station is located in the west of Taojiang County and 20 kilometers upstream of Zishui. Famous scenic spots in the territory include Fuqiu Mountain, Phoenix Mountain, etc. Taojiang County is known as "Beauty's Nest", "Qu Yuan's Second Hometown", "Hometown of Nanzhu", "Hometown of Tea", "Hometown of Building Materials", "Hometown of Non-ferrous Metals", etc.

Taojiang County has a humid subtropical continental monsoon climate. January is the coldest month of the year and July is the hottest month. The annual temperature range is 7.8℃. It has the same season of water and heat as surrounding counties and cities, with warm, humid and rainy weather, short severe cold periods and long hot summer periods; spring temperatures are changeable, and summers and autumns are droughty; there is sufficient heat and concentrated rainfall; the climate is warm and the four seasons are distinct.
