(1) Cutting time: Hardwood cutting is mostly carried out in spring or autumn. Insert it early in spring. Usually before axillary bud germination. Planting in autumn is carried out before the soil freezes.
(2) Cutting mode: There are two cutting modes: straight cutting and oblique cutting, with straight cutting being the best. The suitable cutting depth is ground dew 1 bud. When inserting, the cuttings can be completely inserted into the soil, with the upper end flush with the ground and the periphery compacted. After watering, the top of the cuttings 1 buds naturally emerge from the ground. When cutting in autumn, attention should be paid to covering the soil above the cuttings or taking plastic film mulching measures.
(3) Cutting density: generally 4000-4500 plants /667 m2( 1). Pull out tillers in time: after grafting, the buds at the lower part of the grafting interface of the rootstock often germinate, so it is necessary to check frequently and pull out tillers in time to avoid affecting the growth of grafted buds.
(2) Patching: After 3 weeks of grafting, check whether the scion is alive, and if not, patch it in time.
(3) Unbinding in time: After survival, cut off the binding strips in time to avoid the occurrence of strangulation marks and affect the growth. When the grafted seedlings grow to 20 cm, they should be tied in time to prevent them from being blown off by the wind.
(4) Fertilizer and water management: topdressing after the grafted seedlings survive, watering in combination with fertilization, and intertillage weeding in time after watering or after rain.
