How to prune Chinese rose seedlings

Chinese rose seedlings should be pruned moderately, in order to grow and strengthen, lay a good foundation for future growth and development, and develop into plump tree shapes quickly.

Generally, after the seedlings are transplanted into pots, 1-2 new shoots will be sent from the upper part. Some branches are not long, that is, they begin to conceive buds, but the flowers are small and shapeless, which will consume nutrients. When the young buds grow to the size of beans, cut off 1-2 leaves under the buds. When a new branch without pregnant buds grows 7 ~ 8 leaves, the heart can be removed to promote the growth and enrichment of the new branch, which will gradually sprout strong basal buds from the base of the seedling or the pot soil and quickly develop into branches (commonly known as native branches and stubborn strips). Native branches grow vigorously, and will become the main branches in the next year, which not only have strong branches and abundant flowers, but also can fully show the characteristics of varieties.
