What flowers represent peace?
Rose is the flower of peace. In every Chinese rose garden in the world, there will be a kind of Chinese rose, which is serene and peaceful, with a faint blush wrapped in yellow flowers, noble and elegant. This rose variety, known as the greatest in the 20th century, is called' Peace'.

Peace rose was bred by the most famous Rosaceae plant Francis Mayon in 1935 through cross breeding. After the outbreak of World War II, the Germans invaded France, and Francis entrusted the American Consul General in Lyon, France, to take the saplings to Robert Peel, far away from the war.

Robert planted one of them in his garden immediately after receiving it, and then mailed the other seedlings to rose gardens all over the United States for cultivation experiments. The new variety showed excellent characteristics in the experiment.

After the war, good news came from America. Robert Peel wrote to tell him that in order to express mankind's expectation for peace, the American Rose Society decided to name this new variety "Peace" on April 29th, the day when the Pacific Rose Society was founded.

Coincidentally, on the day when the "Peace" rose was named, the Red Army of the former Soviet Union conquered Berlin and Hitler perished. When the United Nations was founded and held its first meeting in San Francisco, there was a bouquet of "peace" roses presented by the American Rose Association in the vase in each representative room, which read: We hope for peace.
