Therefore, scars may hinder the normal operation of physiological functions of related tissues or organs, and may lead to deformities in some parts. So, how to treat keloids?

There are several ways to treat keloids:

1, radiotherapy

Radiotherapy can be used as a monotherapy or as an adjuvant therapy after surgical resection. The most commonly used treatment for keloid is external irradiation radiotherapy, especially electron beam radiotherapy. When used as adjuvant therapy after surgical resection, it usually begins within 48 hours after keloid resection. Keloid was treated with the dosage of 10 ~ 20Gy. After more than 2 ~ 4 days of operation, satisfactory results were obtained.

2. Laser therapy

Laser therapy uses light energy with specific wavelength and pulse width to remove target tissue. Keloid can be treated by several different lasers, including carbon dioxide (CO2), argon and Nd:YAG laser.
