Pruning of dwarf apples
-Simplified pruning refers to pruning under the premise of ensuring early fruiting, early high yield, high yield and high quality of dwarf apple trees. The method is as follows: 1. Trees are shaped and dwarfed. Close-planted orchards generally adopt free rotation, rotation or slender spindle shape. Its characteristics are: (1) The absolute advantage of trunk should be maintained, and the ratio of branch diameter to main branch diameter should generally not exceed 0.5. When it exceeds 0.5, the branches should be thinned or the growth of branches should be controlled. (2) The main branch angle should be about 80 degrees. (3) When the row spacing is 4m and 3m, the number of main branches per tree is generally12; Under the conditions of 3 m and 2 m row spacing, the number of main branches is about 20. Second, young trees are pruned to the first fruit stage, leaving 3~4 main branches on the trunk every year, and the spacing between the main branches is about 15 cm. In the orchard with low planting density, the main branch of 1 layer can be cut short, leaving two large lateral branches, and the other main branches directly bear fruit branches, which extend uniaxially to form "axis fruit". High-density orchard, the main branch is not short, directly forming fruiting branches. During this period, we should pay attention to adjusting the angle and direction of the main branch by pulling, dropping and taking branches. Auxiliary branches and all kinds of branches are lightly cut and slowly released, girdled or carved to promote the formation of flower buds. In summer, methods such as girdling, twisting tips, bending branches and branching are used to open corners to promote the growth of short branches and facilitate fruit bearing. 3. Pruning in full fruit stage will continue to maintain the advantage of main branches and make them extend uniaxially. For the large branches that hinder the growth of the main branches, methods such as multiple girdling should be adopted to inhibit the growth and promote its multi-bearing. The branches that become weak after the results should be rejuvenated, and the branches that are too dense or worthless should be sparse. Four, the pruning of aging period should pay attention to the rejuvenation of the tree, mostly in strong buds and short nodes, and pay attention to more fertilization and watering to prolong the fruit life. Those with poor economic benefits should eliminate fruit trees.
