How to make insect specimens
1. sample softening

Steam is mainly used to soak worms and make them soft again. In the laboratory, dry the dish with glass, add water to the bottom of the dish, put the sample in triangle bag or cotton bag on the partition for three to five days, and gently touch the angle to judge whether it can be fiddled at will.

If the time is short, it will be broken if it is not softened enough, and the culture medium that is easy to become fungi and bacteria after a long time will be discarded.

2. Insect needle fixing box

Insect needles are selected according to the size of insects. Wing panels can be made of various materials. As long as the needle is firmly stuck and the knife is flexible, the most convenient and easy to get is the plastic foam board.

3. Pin assisted body fixation

Fix the left and right sides of the abdomen with pins, and pay attention to keeping the abdomen straight.

Step 4: Spread your wings.

Press the wing surface with paper or film, and fix the corners of the paper with pins. Choosing paper or film according to personal preference is not expensive, and sulfuric acid paper is better from the perspective of environmental protection.

V placement of feet and antennae

The usage of pins here is ever-changing. One needle can be pressed and divided, two needles can be held and clamped, and three or four needles can be attached if two needles are not fixed.

Six. ? Air drying and needle removal

After the whole posture is finished, it can be dried for three to five days, but it is difficult to pull out the needle. Air-dried specimens are easy to break, so be careful when pulling out needles. Remove the pin in the order of tentacles, feet/wings and abdomen, and finally remove the specimen.

Seven. ? Labeling and preservation

An insect specimen with complete information needs not only the insect itself, but also naming labels, which are arranged below the insect specimen respectively.
