How to plant azaleas?
First, fix the part.

Today I want to talk about some details that were not covered in the last article. In order to have a high survival rate, it is very important to treat the cut surface before planting. I planted the same species of azaleas in the same environment. One pot was sawed with a saw, and the section was very rough. The other basin is finely flattened with a utility knife, and the cross section is very smooth; There is another pile, because it is broken and mishandled, and the root is very rough.

These three Yingshan red piles were planted at the same time. After about 40 days, the pot turned over. So, the one carefully flattened with the art knife has taken root and sprouted. The other two red piles of Yingshanhong, which have not yet taken root, have shown signs of decay (the survival time is late, but the growth period is shortened by more than one month).

Second, rooting powder

As mentioned in the last article, rooting powder is necessary for planting azaleas. Generally, there are two kinds of rooting powder, which are prepared into aqueous solution and slurry. I have tried two kinds of rooting powder, and the effect of soaking old piles with mixed water is obviously not as good as that of muddy rooting mud.

It is best to choose red soil with high viscosity (Yingshanhong itself likes red soil), add proper amount of rooting powder (according to the instructions), and add water to make a porridge paste. Let the old Yingshan red pile soak in it for more than 5 hours, and the roots are all covered with this mud before planting.

Third, the importance of river sand.

In the first year of planting azaleas, it is necessary to prepare a high proportion of river sand, generally above 70%. Only a high proportion of plant materials prepared by river sand can make Yingshanhong take root quickly and water frequently in summer. I suggest watering once a day in summer, so as to ensure that the newly sprouted capillary roots will not die, so the drainage and permeability of plant materials are particularly important.

Many flower lovers are defeated by planting materials, thinking that Yingshanhong likes humus soil, so they all use soil taken from the mountains. But I don't know that pure humus soil is easy to cause the basin soil to harden and airtight, or it is difficult to water thoroughly, or it will accumulate water when it rains. These problems are the key factors that affect the rooting and survival of rhododendron.

Fourth, live a fake life safely.

What it says above is how to make azaleas take root and sprout. I believe that if the above points are achieved, rhododendrons will grow new capillary roots after more than one month. But! Rhododendron does not mean survival at this time, because there will be a holiday after the tree is planted. Properly managed, it can survive for 90 days (management should not be sloppy).

Fake works are the easiest way to deceive novice flower lovers, and most flower lovers relaxed their management at this stage, leading to the death of Yingshanhong, who should have survived. How to spend the holiday safely with potted old Yingshan red pile? The key is shading! Rhododendron myrtle is a sunny plant. Rhododendron with good flowering in the wild is mostly born on sunny slopes, which is easy for flower lovers to misunderstand its growth habits.

However, during the festival, azalea (especially potted plants) must be shaded, and the shading period generally lasts until 165438+ current year1October. The newly planted azaleas need to build a shade shed. It can be covered with an 8-pin encrypted sunshade net, and another layer is needed in summer. * * * Two-layer sunshade net can ensure the safety of azaleas in summer. In the second year, the density of shading net can be slightly smaller, 6 stitches, which will strengthen the photosynthesis of leaves and promote the plant of Ardisia rhododendron to be more robust.

Summary: It is much more difficult to plant the old pile of azalea directly in the basin than in the ground. But the advantage is that once you survive, you can avoid the trouble of getting another basin when you want to change it the next year. In the second year, change the pot and directly dump the whole pot of flower soil. Don't shake off the soil on the roots (just remove some floating soil), and the survival rate will be higher with planting.
