Hospital building
The wards of the whole hospital are combined buildings (including outpatient emergency, ward internal medicine, surgery, medical technology, office building, conference room, service department, etc.). In a building). The contact between departments can be communicated through a closed central transmission system, which is convenient, fast and safe.
There are six elevators on each floor. Patient elevator 1 department, family elevator 2, staff elevator 1 department, dining car elevator 1 department, sewage elevator 1 department. The elevator for patients is limited to the second floor, and all medical departments are above the second floor. The reason is to effectively protect patients' privacy, because the first floor is a public place where all patients, visitors and medical staff come and go. Some of them need to go out for examination or treatment after plastic surgery, burns or amputation, but they don't want people to know, so as not to cause unnecessary psychological trauma.
Ward facilities
Each ward has 80-90 beds and is divided into wards A, B 1 and B2. Class A is a single room with TV, telephone, toilet, air conditioner, electric bed (room light switch, call alarm system, bed lifting button, etc. ); Class B 1 has four beds in each room, and the facilities are different from those of Class A wards. Four people use a bathroom, and the bed is a hand-cranked bed. B2 is 6 people 1 room. There is only an electric fan in the ward, but there is no TV, telephone or toilet. However, there is an activity room in the ward, where there are televisions and books for patients and their families to read, and there is also a public toilet. Different facilities allow patients to choose beds according to their own economic ability, which avoids the trouble of interdisciplinary and borrowing beds and meets the needs of patients to the maximum extent.
No matter in ward A, B 1 or B2, each bed is equipped with a sliding fence, and all medical treatment and operation are carried out in the fence, which not only protects the privacy of patients, but also effectively reduces unnecessary disputes.
It is worth learning that there are four kinds of indicator lights (white, green, yellow and red) at the door of each ward. When the white light is on, it prompts the health assistant to operate in the ward (for example, helping the patient to wipe the body, feed, go to the toilet, etc.). ); When the green light is on, it will prompt the medical staff to make diagnosis or operation in the ward, which avoids
The patient shouted for the noise of medical staff in the corridor of the ward; When the yellow light flashes and beeps, it prompts the patient to ask for help (mostly infusion problems, patients asking for help in the bathroom or patients falling down, etc.). ), and medical staff should promptly go to the ward to remove the alarm reason; When medical staff in all wards need help or patients have an accident, just press the emergency light button beside the bed, and the red alarm light at the door of the ward will keep flashing and make an emergency sound, reminding all medical staff in the class that they need to go to the help ward for rescue as long as they can put down their work. In this way, the trouble of notifying the doctor by a special person is reduced, and the rescue time is won as quickly as possible.
The external impression of SGH is not so much a hospital as a community, a hotel, a leisure center and a shopping place, and even a lingering museum and art hall. SGH doesn't let people live in white terror. The windows here are bright and clean, with clear signs, no crowds, nervous mood, wide and long corridors and seats for people to rest at any time. Exquisite oil paintings and other works of art can be seen everywhere on the walls, and some exquisite sculptures are surrounded by lush green leaves in the courtyard, giving people a kind of care and warmth.
SGH is the largest emergency hospital and national referral center in Singapore. In 2005, SGH was certified as the second largest hospital in the world by the International Joint Committee of American Medical Institutions.
