As the saying goes, "there are many people who are red." In the past week, we first reported that Li Chenggong went public in the United States, and its market value once surpassed Weilai Automobile. Then the chat record of Mr. Li Xiang, CEO of Li, who can't see the essence of things clearly, is analyzed in detail.
A few days later, Li Yi once again boarded the "hot list" of the automobile circle, but this time the heat was relatively high, and even directly "ignited" Li Yi.
On August 7th, Beijing time, Li announced in his official Weibo that on August 6th, 2020 16: 09, a moving Li ONE had an accident in the direction of Sihui and Lianzhou of Erguang Expressway in Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, which caused the vehicle to catch fire. After the accident, Li staff rushed to the scene at the first time to confirm the user's situation. At present, two people in the car are in hospital for observation and the rest of the passengers are safe.
According to the relevant videos and materials at the time of the vehicle accident, at 16: 08: 54, an object with a length of about 20 cm suspected of iron sheet appeared in front of the vehicle and then entered the bottom of the vehicle. At this time, the vehicle speed is115 km/h; 16: 08: 59 Abnormal drop of fuel pipeline pressure; 16: 09: 06, the driver pulled over and the vehicle caught fire.
As for the specific cause of the fire, Li said that the initial judgment of the cause of the accident was that an object suspected of iron sheet was rolled up by a high-speed vehicle and penetrated the high-pressure oil pipe, causing fuel splash and being ignited by the exhaust pipe at high temperature. The specific accident causes and detailed analysis results need to be investigated and analyzed in detail at the accident site.
Fortunately, by retrieving the cloud monitoring data, it was confirmed that there was no abnormality in Li ONE's battery and range extender after the accident. Therefore, friends who have bought Li ONE can rest assured that the spontaneous combustion event is not directly related to the hardware of the vehicle itself, and there are no related risks in the products sold.
In addition, unlike other brands' public relations methods of "passive explanation" crisis, there was almost no news of Li ONE's spontaneous combustion on the Internet before Li released the event description in this incident, and reports on this incident were naturally rare.
In other words, if it weren't for Li's official statement, most netizens might not know about it. It is estimated that it was the first large-scale fermentation of spontaneous combustion accident before, and the negative drag on the brand was too serious, so the ideal public relations department understood the truth that "passive defense is not as good as active attack".
Of course, even if manufacturers come forward soon, they still can't solve the confusion in the hearts of netizens. At present, there are many voices on the Internet expressing doubts about Li's official statement.
After all, it is reasonable to question all this.
First of all, how did the static thin iron sheet on the road get under the car? Is it caused by tire crushing or other external forces? Is the design of fuel pipeline reasonable? Why can iron sheet penetrate the tubing?
Secondly, even if the fuel pipeline is really hit by iron, it can only leak under normal circumstances. Why did Li Yizhong have an instantaneous fuel splash? Is it really just coincidence?
So today, we might as well analyze the front-end layout of Li Yi to see if there is the possibility of sharp instrument penetrating high-pressure tubing.
As an extremely rare extended-range household electric vehicle in the market, the powertrain of Li ONE is very similar to that of a series of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. But the special feature is that the energy transmission route of the extended-range electric vehicle embodies two sets of power systems, but there is only one driving mode, that is, motor driving.
This means that the working principle of Li ONE is that the internal combustion engine first works to generate electricity, and then the motor drives the vehicle to run normally. The problem occurred in dongan power's 1.2TGDI engine, which was carried by Li ONE.
Looking through the technical documents, it is found that this engine has DOHC double overhead camshaft in-cylinder direct injection technology, so in theory, its "culprit" high-pressure oil circuit should also be concentrated near the upper camshaft of the engine (the high-pressure oil pump is linked with the camshaft).
After finding out the problem, it is not difficult to see that the DAM 12TL engine is "mounted" on the front motor by analyzing the structural analysis diagram of Li ONE.
It's strange to look at it this way. Although Li ONE did not install the chassis guard at the corresponding position on the chassis, it is indeed possible to cause a 20CM foreign body to get stuck in the car. However, in order to "hit it with one blow" and cause spontaneous combustion, it is necessary to first penetrate the motor part blocked by layers, and then accurately penetrate the metal high-pressure oil circuit, so that the injected fuel falls on the high-temperature exhaust pipe.
In the whole process, the cutting angle, power and fuel injection angle of foreign objects must be extremely accurate, otherwise it is impossible to complete the situation of "burning the upper body". In this regard, we can only say that it is a coincidence.
In addition, more coincidentally, Li ONE's two spontaneous combustion events are closely related to the exhaust pipe. As early as May 8 this year, some media reported that a Li ONE, which had only been driving for seven days, spontaneously ignited on the streets of Hunan.
The official explanation said that the staff accidentally left the paint protective pad in the front engine room, and then the protective pad was ignited at the front end of the exhaust pipe at the lower right of the front engine room, causing the whole vehicle to catch fire and spontaneously ignite. Since both spontaneous combustion accidents are related to the high temperature ignition of the exhaust pipe, does it also mean that Li Yizhong's high temperature protection measures have certain defects?
We should know that when designing the power system, mature OEMs will never easily expose high-temperature components such as turbocharger and exhaust to the position where foreign objects are easy to contact. Because users will inevitably encounter leaves and pieces of paper falling in after opening the cover, but if the vehicle can spontaneously ignite, it can only represent that its own design is flawed.
At this point, I hope Li Can can learn from these two accidents and conduct a series of investigations. There must be no luck.
As Murphy's theorem says: If things are likely to go bad, no matter how unlikely it is, it will always happen.
