According to Aauto Quicker Encyclopedia, Pingquan City is directly under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province and managed by Chengde City. Located in the northeast of Hebei Province, the city is at the junction of Liaoning, Inner Mongolia and Hebei provinces. It borders lingyuan city in Liaoning Province in the east, Ningcheng County in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the north, Chengde County in the west and Kuancheng Manchu Autonomous County in the south.
Pingquan City is one of the birthplaces of Hongshan Culture, and allusions such as "An old horse knows his way" and "Looking at plum to quench his thirst" all come from Pingquan. There are more than 60 ancient sites and tombs 18000 in Liaoning province, including the imperial concubine's tomb, the tomb of Dou Jingyang, the tomb of Huizhou City, etc. Among them, there are 446 cultural relics above Grade III, of which Liao and Jin cultural relics account for 70%, which is praised by cultural relics experts in China and Hebei as "Dingzhou porcelain is good in the south, and Pingquan Liao and Jin cultural relics are fine in the north".
