1. Gulangyu Island (English: Kulangsu) was originally named as "Round Shazhou" and was renamed as "Yuanzhouzai" in the Southern Song Dynasty, and was renamed as "Gulangyu Island" in the Ming Dynasty. Because there is a rock with a cave in the middle, which is more than two meters high on the beach in the southwest of the island, whenever the tide surges, the waves hit the rock and sound like drums.
