Introduction of pseudocyst of auricle
Pseudocyst of auricle refers to a cyst-like protuberance containing serous exudate on the side of auricle. Mostly in one ear. The effusion is in cartilage, not between perichondrium and cartilage, and it needs otorhinolaryngology head and neck surgery.
The ventral surface of auricle is hemispherical, hard or wavy. The typical symptom is that the ventral surface of auricle is hemispherical with clear boundary, normal skin color, hardness or fluctuation, and no tenderness. Puncture can extract light yellow or blood sample liquid, which recurs soon after extraction.
The operation mode is puncture aseptic operation. After puncture, a little 2% tincture of iodine can be injected, pressure bandaged or plaster fixed. Under strict aseptic operation, CO2 laser or scalpel is used to cut off the whole capsule wall, and a small window is opened to scrape off the capsule wall. Generally, drainage and pressure dressing are used to promote the capsule wall to collapse and adhere until it heals.
