As for the world's soaked chrysanthemums, there are two famous ones, namely Florists Chrysanthemum and Chrysanthemum. What's their difference?
Chrysanthemum contains stevioside, amino acids, flavonoids, vitamins and trace elements. Traditional Chinese medicine research shows that chrysanthemum has the functions of nourishing liver, improving eyesight, clearing heart and tonifying kidney, strengthening spleen and regulating stomach, moistening throat and promoting fluid production, and regulating blood lipid. Drinking this product often can warm up the dampness in spring, quench thirst in summer, relieve dryness in autumn and clear fire in winter.
"Florists Chrysanthemum" is an excellent variety selected from the chrysanthemum population originating in Jinzhuling area of Shexian County, which has both ornamental value and medicinal function.
According to folklore, "Florists Chrysanthemum" was originally introduced as an ornamental chrysanthemum by Huizhou merchants from Deqing County, Zhejiang Province in the Song Dynasty. In the year of drought, many people got pink eye headache, and some people used fresh chrysanthemums to soak the fire, which was very effective.
In the future, people often make tea with dried flowers or chrysanthemums to cure blindness, shame and modesty. Since then, chrysanthemums have been widely planted in the front and back of farmers' houses in this area, and dried chrysanthemums have been specially baked for a long time, so Jinzhuling is well known.
During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, pinkeye also spread in the Forbidden City in Beijing. The emperor ordered a visit to famous doctors and medicines, and the magistrate of Huangshan presented Huangshan dried chrysanthemum. After soaking in clothes, Beijingers recovered from their eye diseases. So Huizhou Opera became famous and was honored as "Palace Opera".
Gongju has always been regarded as an important Chinese herbal medicine.
