Before his death, Dr. Du asked not to hold a state funeral. A private funeral will be held in Wan Li Crematorium next Tuesday (7th). In addition, the government building will fly the flag at half mast at the funeral to pay tribute to him. In order to pay tribute to the founding father of our country, his coffin will be carried to the towing gun rack by uniformed army representatives, and will be towed by the jeep of the Singapore Armed Forces under the escort of the gendarmerie and moved to the Wan Li Crematorium. This is actually one of the important ceremonies of state funeral. Dr. Du Zhancai passed away at 9: 30 am yesterday at his home in Jingwan, Ma Qing, Wuji. He left a son-in-law Jin Jie (4 1 year old, real estate agent) and four grandchildren Huang (15 years old), Xiuying (13 years old), Mingde (9 years old) and (4 years old). Dr. Du Zhancai's wife, Ye Ruibi, died of illness at home as early as June 10, 2004, and his favorite only daughter, Du Aizhu, died of breast cancer three years ago.
