In understanding the position and function of plastic pruning in fruit tree cultivation, we must overcome the following two tendencies:
(1) overemphasizes the role of fruit tree pruning.
Too much emphasis on pruning and neglect of other cultivation and management measures will lead to a passive situation of insufficient fertilizer and water supply, unfavorable pest control and decline in fruit yield and quality. Without suitable site conditions, adequate fertilizer and water supply, timely and effective pest control and meticulous flower and fruit management, even if pruning is meticulous, it is difficult to increase production.
(2) Fruit trees need not be pruned.
In some places, throwing or even cutting is released, which leads to bad phenomena such as closed crown, disordered tree shape, poor ventilation and light transmission, dead branches in the inner chamber, outward migration of fruiting parts, shrinking fruiting area and so on, resulting in low fruit yield, poor quality, small income and shortened economic life.
