1, seedling pruning
At the seedling stage, when it grows to a certain height, it is necessary to remove the terminal bud, inhibit the top growth, dwarf the begonia, promote the growth of lateral branches, and make the overall shape of the plant more symmetrical and beautiful.
2. Prune after planting
After planting, according to the growth state of the plant, cut off the weak branches and keep 3~5 strong branches. Reduce nutrient consumption, make nutrient centralized supply, and the remaining branches grow healthily, laying the foundation for vigorous growth in the later period.
3. Pruning in growing season
Begonia will appear weak branches, dead branches and diseased branches during its growth, and it should be cut off in time after it is found. These branches will consume plant nutrients and affect plant growth. Cut off branches that grow irregularly or in vain. If the branches grow too densely, they should be thinned to increase the overall light transmittance.
4. Prune after flowering
Plants can't be pruned during flowering, which will lead to problems such as poor flowering and falling flowers. After the flowering period, it can be appropriately trimmed, cut off residual flowers and thinned branches, and the branches that are too long can be appropriately cut short. Leave 3~4 buds at the bottom of the plant to increase the branches that form flower buds and the flowering amount in the coming year.
Pruning season
Pruning four-season begonia should choose the right season, which is beneficial to plant growth. Pruning is most suitable in spring and autumn, when the climate is mild, and the plants can recover quickly after pruning, which has little effect on the plants.
