Spring in Chengdu

Sister Liu

(1) Chengdu is not too hot when it is hot, not too cold when it is cold, with a lot of moisture and uncertain rain or shine, which is suitable for raising flowers and trees, but not for raising people. Therefore, people living in Chengdu are not good-looking, and flowers and trees are not good. Good plum blossoms that can't be seen in the south of Peiping are found in Chengdu. Magnolia four or five feet high, oleander two or three feet high, can't be seen outside, but also in Chengdu. According to foreigners, there are more than 300 kinds of orchids in Chengdu. Outside, orchids are as valuable as treasures. Orchids here are really everywhere. They are as cheap as rape blossoms in Jiangnan. You can buy a handful for 30 cents and insert a few bottles. There are no foreign friends who don't scold the weather in Chengdu, but there are no people who don't love flowers and trees in Chengdu.

(2) Chengdu, the city, has a little Beijing flavor. Planting flowers and drinking tea play a very important role in our life. In a poor family, there are always dozens of flowers and plants in the yard, and bright flowers keep blooming all year round. They all know how to cultivate and paste. Next to a bunch of small bamboos, there are several peach trees; Next to it is green plum, lined with red plum; Near the rose, there are oranges: this kind of lining is harmonious but not monotonous.

(3) The spring in Chengdu is about one to two months earlier than that in the south of Beiping. From February 30th to March 30th, plum blossoms are in full bloom. Streets and alleys, between courtyard walls, are full of plum blossom colors. Plum is better than light plum, vermilion is better than delicate plum, and the quality of pink plum is not high. But what you see in Wuxi Meiyuan and Suzhou Dengwei is this kind of pink plum. Mr. Lin Hejing's poems are really good, but it's a pity that he hasn't seen the good plum blossoms here. Green, white, pink, vermilion, all kinds of colors, with nature, are really worthy of the word "fragrance".

It's the end of March, and Mei Lan has already died. This is the time when all kinds of flowers and trees in Li Yingchun are competing for beauty. Willow has been dragging a gentle strip, fluttering leisurely at the water's edge of Huanhuaxi in Baihuatan. The colors of big birds and small birds are very beautiful. I don't know their names. They are singing around. Xuetaolin Park is also full of spring. There are old poets hanging there and young men and women swimming there. Some people are playing flute and singing, others are fishing and playing Zheng. This kind of mood is completely different from the scenery on the West Lake.

(5) Flower Festival is the opening day of Chengdu Flower Festival. The location is next to the 12 th Bridge outside the south gate of Qingyang Pass. This flower will last for a month. This is the liberation period of young men and women in Chengdu. The flower show is similar to the Bath Buddha Festival in Shanghai, but in Chengdu, it mainly sells flowers.

(6) Going to Baihuatan for a walk is also very good. Opposite is the thatched cottage of the Ministry of Industry, where covered ferries are always ready. You wave your hand, and he will come and step over you. A pool of water is lovely, and the fish in shallow water can be seen clearly. No matter when you go, there are always a bunch of people fishing there. No matter whether there are fish or not, they sit there patiently, talking and laughing, and don't go to town in droves until dusk. More than a dozen big willows on the shore are hung with new green strips, and their tops are brushed on the water. The breeze blew and made beautiful ripples on the water.

(7) You can go to the teahouse when you are free. Teahouses are really everywhere in Chengdu, with a bamboo chair and a shapeless wooden table. You can make a bowl of tea (only 30 cents) and sit for an afternoon. There, you can see many things that you can't see on weekdays. Some sell calligraphy and painting, some sell stamps, and some sell old clothes. Sometimes, you can buy some good things with the least money. Tea houses in the suburbs, some by the river, some under the flower trees. You can sit there, drink tea and eat peanuts, enjoy nature leisurely, or read or sleep, which is very comfortable. When you are happy, you can also order one or two dishes, half a catty of wine, get as drunk as a fiddler, and then go to town by car. All you can feel is relaxation and leisure, and you can't feel the tense air outside the city.

(8) I often think that if a person lives in Chengdu for too long, he will become a lazy person, a lazy person who muddles along.
