Video tutorial on apple tree grafting
The apple tree grafting tutorial is introduced as follows:

(1) There are many grafting methods for apple trees, including bud grafting, branch grafting, nest grafting, post grafting, abdominal grafting and so on. There are two methods that are most used in production and have the highest survival rate, namely bud grafting and branch grafting. These two methods are simple to operate and easy to learn, and are most suitable for farmers.

(2) Bud grafting method: The best time for bud grafting is usually from July to September, when the internal activities of branches are vigorous. At this time, branches with healthy growth and smooth skin are selected as rootstocks. First, cut the skin of the selected rootstock into a T-shaped opening with a grafting knife. Then, according to the length of the T-shaped opening, completely peel off the full and pest-free buds, gently insert them into the T-shaped interface and wrap them tightly. This method is mainly suitable for young trees with short gardening time and thin branches.

(3) Grafting method: Take branches of fruit trees as scions, and generally combine pruning for grafting in March-April. When grafting, select the branches with good growth and full bud eyes, and use a sharp grafting knife to cut them about 0.5 cm below the bud and cut them down into hypotenuse at a 45-degree angle. The knife should be sharp, the inclined plane should be formed at one time, flat and smooth, and the depth should reach 1/3 branch xylem.

Then cut a cut as long as the scion slope from the center of the selected rootstock, insert the cut cuttings along the cut, and wrap them tightly with plastic strips, leaving no gaps. According to the thickness of the rootstock, more than two cuttings can be inserted into one incision. This method is mainly used for adult tree grafting, and is also the most commonly used method for farmers' friends.
