Ningde, Fujian is located in the northeast coastal area of Fujian Province, commonly known as Mindong. In the geological structural belt, Ningde is located in the northern part of Yanshan volcanic fault zone in eastern Fujian and the volcanic belt along the southeast coast.

The basic outline of Ningde landform was formed at the end of Yanshan movement, which belongs to Zhongshan landform area of volcanic rock system in central Fujian and granite hilly plain landform area along the coast of eastern Fujian. Its terrain is high in the west and low in the north, high in the east and low in the south, with a bulge in the middle, which is roughly a "door"-shaped ladder. There are two mountains in the northwest of China: Donggong Mountain and Jiufeng Mountain. There are two mountains, Taimu Mountain and Tianhu Mountain, in the north-central and south-central.
