① The mandible is upward, and the mandibular teeth bite the maxillary teeth. At this time, the condyle of mandible is located at the back of temporomandibular joint.
② The mesiobuccal tip of the maxillary first permanent molar is facing the mesiobuccal sulcus of the mandibular first permanent molar, and the mesiobuccal tip of the maxillary first permanent molar just bites into the central fossa of the mandibular first permanent molar.
③ Maxillary teeth cover mandibular teeth. Non-centered relationship is not a normal occlusion relationship.
Check the occlusal relationship: Check the occlusal relationship: The maxillary first molar is occlusal near the mesiobuccal tip and in the mesiobuccal sulcus of the mandibular first molar. And check the occlusal relationship: the lower incisor crest occludes the lingual third of the upper crown.
Standard value
(1) Tooth size and shape are normal. Line up neatly.
(2) The occlusal relationship between the upper and lower teeth is normal, and the upper and lower cusps are relatively widely contacted, overlapping and covering are normal.
(3) The abutment relationship of each tooth is normal, the shape, length and width of the upper and lower dental arches are appropriate, and the midline is aligned.
(4) The size, shape and mutual position of the maxilla and mandible are normal.
(5) The development and function of facial and perioral muscles are normal.
(6) The structure and function of temporomandibular joint are normal.
(7) Mandibular function is balanced during movement and centered when closed.
Clinical significance
Abnormal results: Because of the displacement of jaw fracture segment, the occlusal relationship between upper and lower teeth is often disordered, which is the most obvious symptom of jaw fracture and is of great significance to the diagnosis of jaw fracture. Transverse fracture of maxilla, the fracture segment moves down, which makes the maxillary posterior teeth contact with the mandibular posterior teeth in advance and makes the anterior teeth open. After mandibular fracture, the occlusal relationship of teeth is disordered due to the displacement of fracture segment. If there is no displacement of fracture segment, there is no obvious occlusal disorder. People who need to be examined: the teeth are not allowed to bite.
