Nasal alar reduction usually involves making a butterfly-shaped incision along the alar margin, separating the skin to expose alar cartilage, cutting alar cartilage at the vault, re-suturing and shaping, then cutting off excess connective tissue and fat under the skin, and finally suturing.
Rhinoplasty usually takes half a year to fully recover. During the recovery period of rhinoplasty, the swelling and dressing of tissues will block the nostrils, and breathing may be assisted by the mouth. Because the eyes, nose, lips and teeth are connected together, although the scope of operation does not reach the eyes, the eyes may be swollen and blue within one week after operation.
Postoperative care includes using antibiotics to prevent infection 3-5 days after operation, prohibiting touching the incision with hands, avoiding the incision from getting wet, minimizing activities and preventing the prosthesis from moving, pulling out nasal suture 5-7 days after operation, avoiding taboos and fasting spicy food.
