What is Sanjiang Stone?

Sanjiang Stone is mainly produced in parts of Rongjiang and Liujiang in northern Guangxi. Stone lovers in Liuzhou often arrive in Sanjiang County in northern Guangxi in the north and go to Yunjiang in the south to quarry and select stones. What's more, not afraid of hardships, it can be traced back to the upper reaches of the Yuanjiang River at the junction of Hunan and Guizhou and its northern part (Xuefeng ancient land).

Sanjiang stone belongs to multi-component quartzite and quasi-jasper, which is tough and hard and smooth siliceous gravel after long-distance transportation and rolling. Sanjiang Stone was excavated in the 198s, and its colors are dark sallow, dark brown, dark green, blood red, red brown and so on. It often comes into being alternately, and it has patterns after natural polishing. If there is no pattern, as long as it is smooth and smooth, the color change is also an optional object, among which those with dark wax yellow, dark green and blood red are the top grades. The famous pyrochlore (Figure 4.52), known as the "imperial concubine" among pyrochlore, is only produced in Longsheng reach, and the outstanding red pebbles in Sanjiang stone are mainly produced in Dadihe, Sanmenhe and Jiaozhou in Longsheng county, and its red color is mainly caused by Fe2O3 impregnation.

Sanjiang stone can be subdivided into several simple subspecies: monochromate, bichromate and polychromatic stone, but all of them are siliceous, and there are also breccia-like structures (metamorphic structural breccia and cataclastic rocks) and quasi-banded structures (quartz schist and mylonite). Liuzhou Sanjiang Stone also includes some metamorphic sandstones, Paleozoic silicified belts and structural rocks, but most of them belong to low grade. The orthodox Sanjiang Stone refers to multi-component quartzite, a silicified metamorphic rock of Sinian system in Yuan Gu Yu.
