How to prune roses?
For ornamental roses, the old branches, weak branches, cross branches, over-dense branches, dead branches and insect branches are cut off every year after defoliation in autumn or before germination in early spring to facilitate renewal. For upright and stout branches, cut them short at 80 cm from the ground to promote flowering. When thinning weak old branches, you can cut off those branches that may sprout new buds at 5 ~ 6 cm from the ground. For ordinary branches, full buds should be selected for short cutting to cultivate strong branches. Because the flowers of roses are planted at the top of the branches, try to avoid short cutting before flowering, and you can properly thin the branches; Cut off the residual flowers in time after flowering to accumulate nutrients.
