In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), the national government issued an instruction to the whole country, praising Sun Shi for "advocating the national revolution, starting to create the Republic of China, updating the political system, and consolidating the foundation forever, seeking common ground and international equality" and honoring him as "the father of the Republic of China".

Sun Wen was praised as "eternal prime minister" by China Kuomintang; China * * * production party called him a "revolutionary pioneer".

Some people in Chinese mainland also call him "the father of modern China".

China's official evaluation is "the great forerunner of China's modern democratic revolution".
