Complications of facial plastic surgery
1. Facial swelling may last for two weeks to a month; Postoperative cold compress can reduce postoperative swelling. 2. Temporary facial paralysis caused by facial nerve injury: it is caused by normal traction or swelling of the wound during surgery; Facial nerve injury may occur during zygomatic surgery. There may be asymmetry in the corners of the mouth during mandibular surgery. The probability of occurrence is not high, and it will slowly recover after two to three months. 3. A few patients with insensitivity around cheeks or mouth will have this situation, which is mainly caused by surgical traction, postoperative swelling and facial sensory nerve compression. Avoid overheated food and prevent accidental burns. It usually takes two to four weeks, and the wound will recover after the swelling subsides. 4. Wound bleeding, hematoma or skin abrasion bleeding are the most common complications. Thoroughly stop bleeding during operation, and postoperative pressure dressing can prevent postoperative bleeding. Once there is a hematoma, you should seek medical attention as soon as possible and deal with it in time. 5. The difficulty of opening mouth is caused by swelling of masticatory muscles or wounds, which will gradually recover after swelling.
