Unsolved homicide cases in Hong Kong
At about 7 o'clock in the morning on December 17th: a veterinarian Hu Yongkang, a staff member of the clinic, discovered a cardboard box on the sidewalk outside the door, containing the naked body of the deceased Bian Yuying. The body of the deceased Bian Yuying was found inside a Hitachi S67B TV carton.
The TV cardboard box became the key to solving the case.
After investigation, it was found in an electrical appliance company on Austin Road in Kowloon that the firm that represents this brand was found to have been launched in Hong Kong in early April 1972. The cardboard box containing the body may have been sold on Hong Kong Island between 1973 and the day of the incident.
After testing, it was confirmed that the carton was the same as the one sold by the agent. In order to trace the source of the welding device, the task force interviewed 750 people working in electrical appliance stores in the Happy Valley area. I also found 50 different cars and tried to put the cartons into the trunk of the car. Finally, the suspect Ouyang Bingqiang was found, and the court finally convicted him.
The highlight of this case is that the "Corpse Hidden in a Cardboard Case" is the first case of hiding a corpse in a cardboard box in Hong Kong; the twists and turns of the case shocked the whole Hong Kong; it is also the first case in Hong Kong history where there were no witnesses. Cases in which forensic technology was used to successfully convict criminals. But there is still debate as to whether Ouyang Bingqiang is really the murderer.
It is said that in order to solve the case, the police called his house in the middle of the night and pretended to be the deceased, but he didn't react at all. And then he still doesn't admit to killing anyone. When he signed the confession, he also said: "Although I signed it, it does not mean that I did it." Ouyang Bingqiang's family also made multiple appeals after the verdict, but all of them were rejected.
On September 11, 2002, Ouyang Bingqiang, the protagonist of the case who had spent 28 years in prison, was released on parole, but his wife and children disappeared. A reporter asked Ouyang Bingqiang if he had committed murder that year. Ouyang Bingqiang said that the case had been brought to an end and he did not want to mention it again in his lifetime?
Ouyang Bingqiang, a well-known released prisoner in Hong Kong. In 1974, he killed 16-year-old female student Bian Yuying and hid her body in a cardboard box, which became the sensational "Happy Valley corpse case". Later, scientific forensics proved that the murderer was Ouyang himself. , arrested him and sentenced him to life imprisonment. But some Hong Kong people living at that time believed that he was innocent.
It is worth mentioning that it was Tong Jiahua, the current member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council, who appealed for Ouyang Bingqiang.
He was released on September 11, 2002, changed his name, and returned to a new life.

The deceased died of suffocation
- It was initially estimated that Bian died between 9 pm and 12 pm. Later, after it was discovered that she had been strangled, the time of death was advanced to 6:00 to 12:00, because after being strangled, the body temperature would be higher (the body temperature drops by 1.5 degrees every hour after death).
