Surgical process of total ear reconstruction
Autologous costal cartilage is still the first choice for ear support in clinic. Its advantages mainly lie in the convenience of obtaining materials, easy carving, no rejection, and good long-term stability of reconstructed auricle.

The first stage is dilator implantation, that is, 100ml dilator is implanted in the mastoid region behind the ear. It can be done in a hospital or clinic. Water injection was started one week after operation, 2-3 times a week, and the water injection was completed in about 1-2 months. After the completion of water injection, it is best to continue to expand for 3-6 months, so that in the second stage of operation, the flap will be thinner, less retracted and the reconstruction effect will be better. The second stage operation can also be carried out after water injection is completed.

The second stage is auricle reconstruction, that is, the costal cartilage is carved and supported during the operation, and then the expanded skin of the ear is used as auricle skin to complete auricle reconstruction. The operation at this stage requires hospitalization 10- 14 days or so. At this stage, the postoperative rest is about half a year, and the third stage of operation is performed after the reconstructed auricle is basically stable and the scar is softened.

In the third stage, on the basis of auricle reconstruction, the earlobe transposition, concha cavity and tragus reconstruction were carried out to make the reconstructed auricle more perfect and realistic.
