Pig head How to make steamed buns?

Put the yeast into the water, mix well and then pour it into the flour. First stir it into a fluffy shape with chopsticks, and then knead it into a dough with your hands.

Put it in a container, cover it with plastic wrap, and ferment until it doubles in size.

Knead the dough to deflate, take out an appropriate amount and put it aside to make ears and nose. Divide remaining dough into 15 equal portions. According to personal preference, I made it small and filled it with bean paste filling. If not filling, divide into 8 portions.

Knead 15 portions of dough into a round shape and cover with plastic wrap at all times to prevent the surface of the dough from drying out.

I added a little bit of red yeast rice powder to the dough for the ears and kneaded it evenly. Pinch the ears and nose into shape, then use the tip of a chopstick to poke out the nostrils. Ear and nose dough can also be made with carrot juice, cornmeal, pumpkin, etc. alone.

Dip a little water on the ears, nose, and the pig's head. For pig eyes, I used black sesame paste and kneaded some flour. You can use any ready-made ingredients at home, such as black sesame seeds, black beans, black raisins, etc.

Shape it well and put it in a steamer for secondary fermentation. After it wakes up, put it in a pot with cold water, steam it over medium heat for 10-15 minutes and then turn off the heat. After simmering for 3-5 minutes, open the lid.
