In addition, diseases such as pemphigoid of the eyes can also cause trichiasis because of the scar of eyelid conjunctiva. Because the cornea of the eye is very sensitive, once trichiasis pricks the eyeball, it will cause tingling, itching or blinking. Some people's corneas are very strong, and even if eyelashes stab the corneas, they will soon grow well. The cornea of the elderly is relatively unhealthy. Long-term abrasion caused by trichiasis and bacterial infection may cause corneal ulcer. How to treat trichiasis? When the child has trichiasis, if the situation is not serious, you can order some antibiotic eye ointment. If the whole row of eyelashes is trichiasis and the eyelids are inverted, surgical correction can be considered. Generally speaking, you can wait until you are two years old. Adult trichiasis can be treated in different ways. 1. Pulling out eyelashes: Pulling out eyelashes with eyelash tweezers is simple and has no sequelae. But the eyelashes will grow back, so pull them out every four to six weeks. 2. electrocautery: destroy the hair roots of eyelashes by electrocautery, so that trichiasis no longer grows. However, electrocautery may not destroy the hair roots accurately, but may damage the adjacent normal eyelashes and cause another trichiasis. 3. Freezing method: Using the low temperature of MINUS 20 degrees to freeze and destroy the hair follicles of eyelashes, the effect is good. But it may lead to eyelid pigment shedding and uneven eyelid color. 4. Laser method: Using laser to destroy the hair roots of eyelashes has a good effect. But the root cutting may take two or three times, and the cost is high. 5. Operation: If there is only a small amount of trichiasis locally, trichiasis and eyelid can be removed together. If the range of trichiasis is very large, even if the whole row of eyelashes are inserted backwards, surgery is needed to turn the eyelid margin outwards, so as to achieve the effect once and for all. Personally, I think it is better to use iron eyelash curlers than battery ones, so this method is not recommended to solve the problem of trichiasis. It is recommended to take children to the hospital for eye examination to understand the causes of trichiasis. If it is mild trichiasis, you can ask a doctor to teach you some methods to temporarily relieve the symptoms. If trichiasis is serious, surgery is needed.
