What are the correct steps to wash your teeth?
12 basic steps of dental care:

The first step: general inspection;

Step 2: Preliminary oral inquiry;

Step 3: Remove stones above the gum line. This is the least important, but it is the easiest for the owner to find. This operation can be completed without anesthesia.

Step 4: Remove stones below the gum line. This is the most important part of tooth cleaning, but it is the least easy to be found by the owner. There are three possible steps: subgingival scaling (calculus removal), root planing (smooth and rough surface) and/or subgingival scaling (soft tissue debridement in gingival pocket).

Step 5: Polishing to remove defects and irregularities.

Step 6: Rinse the debris below the gum line.

Step 7: Application of fluoride: Fluoride can strengthen enamel, make exposed dentin and/or cementum insensitive, and reduce the incidence of dental caries.

Step 8: A complete dental chart.

Almost all sick animals have problems, so it is necessary to mark all abnormalities in the dental chart. For example, the gingival pocket of dogs is larger than 3mm, and that of cats is larger than 1mm, with exposed teeth, exposed dentin and exposed roots.

Step 9: Dental X-ray

All suspicious places should be X-rayed. 80% of the tooth anatomy is invisible.

Step 10: Treatment Plan

Decide what treatment is necessary and what drugs are needed.

Step 11: Home Care

Let the owners choose for themselves. Show the product to the owner.

Step 12: Arrange the next consultation.

Plan a re-examination and/or the next oral care.
