The Origin of Pengliuyang Road in Wuhan
From the east gate of Wuchang Shipyard to the north, there is an east-west road from Pinghu Gate to cavalry training ground, called Peng Liu Yang Road. This road commemorates the three martyrs Peng Chufan, Liu Fuji and Yang Hongsheng who gave their precious lives in Wuchang Uprising (Xinhai Revolution). 193 1 year, there was a "Three Martyrs Pavilion" in the east gate of Wuchang Shipyard, where they dedicated themselves. There was a stone tablet in the pavilion, which read "Three Martyrs Peng Liuyang passed away" in nine big characters. 199 1 On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Wuchang Shouyi, Wuchang District People's Government held Shouyi Culture Festival, and erected statues of three martyrs Peng Liuyang in Wuchang Cavalry Training Ground, so that future generations can pay tribute to and cherish the heroic achievements of the martyrs.
