What are the sequelae of cholecystectomy? Can bile duct expand after cholecystectomy?
Post-cholecystectomy syndrome (PCS) is a clinical syndrome related to biliary tract diseases after cholecystectomy. Also known as sequelae of cholecystectomy and recurrent biliary syndrome. It is generally believed that less than one-third of patients after cholecystectomy can have transient symptoms, and the symptoms can disappear quickly. Less than 10% of patients need active treatment because of persistent symptoms.
