Types and characteristics of cliff bonsai.

Cliff bonsai has three forms: full cliff, half cliff and inverted cliff, which are divided into:

① The whole cliff: including the moon fishing style, with the tip of the trunk passing through the bottom of the flowerpot and more than 5 branches, the overall image is chic and elegant. The rotating cliff is also a whole cliff, which is only added by rotating the top, but it is difficult to maintain the bonsai after it is formed. Some bonsai need to be tilted and hung upside down in the greenhouse all the year round to avoid the branches falling off. It is suggested that ordinary pot friends who have no maintenance conditions should not buy or make this rotating cliff bonsai.

② Semi-cliff type: the tip of the trunk can only reach the bottom of the flowerpot at most, and 3-5 trunk branches are the best. There is also a shape with branches in the half cliff, which is called cliff style with branches.

③ Upside-down cliff type: also known as hook cliff type and upside-down head-up type, the specific feature is that the root plate should be hung with exposed claws without dragging roots, and the dry shape and support configuration are similar to other cliff types.
