Jinzhong Second People's Hospital, founded in 195 1, is a comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and rehabilitation. It undertakes the teaching tasks of Shanxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Changzhi Medical College and jinzhong university of Shanxi Medical University, and is the center for preventing blindness and treating oral diseases in Jinzhong area. 1994 was designated as "international baby-friendly hospital"; 1998 was awarded the title of "Top 100 Hospitals" by the Ministry of Health, and was awarded the first batch of "People's Assured Demonstration Hospitals" in China in 2004. In 2006, it successfully passed the evaluation of a third-class hospital.
