Haiyan automobile was born in 1958. The familiar Hongqi and Dongfeng Motor are the products of the same era, which is an important scene for the people of New China to realize a better life by building cars. At that time, in those few years, it seemed that all parts of the country were vigorously developing the automobile industry, some for reference and some for originality. Of course, the most advanced and inspiring national sentiment is definitely the research and development of high-class cars such as Hongqi.
In June+10 of the same year, Shanghai taxi maintenance workshop and Shanghai tricycle production cooperative merged to form Shanghai mini-car factory, with the purpose of gradually replacing the existing old tricycles in the city with mini-cars with small size and flexible control, which was also deeply influenced by many Asian automobile manufacturers, such as Kei? The influence of cars and other cultures.
Previously, the manufacturer made a trial version of a mini-car called Hook 580. At the beginning of 1959, technicians made many improvements to the car and tried out the first car listed as "Haiyan", which was also petite and named Haiyan CK730.
There are few historical pictures and documents about this car. It is said that after only more than 60 cars were built, they stopped production because of several factors such as poor quality, poor reliability and high fuel consumption.
This water test is a good experience for Haiyan Automobile. They hope that through the research and development of mini-cars, Shanghai's economy will be officially promoted. At one time, they envisaged putting Haiyan automobile into the taxi industry, and even carefully considered the pricing strategy for trial operation.
Haiyan automobile learned from the failure experience and soon developed a slightly larger mini-car in the coming year, but the manufacturing level and performance have been greatly improved-SW 710.
Haiyan SW7 10 is less than 3m long, equipped with an engine with a displacement of less than 0.3L, with rear layout and single-wheel drive on the left rear wheel, much like a tricycle. Because its maximum power is only 10KW (13HP), the single-wheel drive mode without differential has little influence on the overall acceleration stability.
Moreover, SW7 10 is relatively successful, because it refers to the design scheme of Jilin University of Technology and absorbs a lot of social feedback from the Japanese mini-car industry. From the appearance style, the front design of this SW7 10 is somewhat similar to that of Honda N360, and the rear of the SW 7 10 contains a design similar to the "rocket tail" recognized by people from American models at that time, and the shape is still reasonable.
SW7 10, which is slightly simple, adopts manual gear, and the top speed can reach 60 km/h. In space, because of the adoption of the front multi-link independent suspension, the rear leaf spring is not an independent suspension, and the door opening is huge, people will not feel too much trouble in terms of seating space and getting on and off, and the practicability has been well confirmed.
At present, this move of Haiyan Automobile seems to be quite successful. Although this car has no comfortable configuration worth exporting, it is also a pioneer in the field of independent research and development of mini-cars in China. At the same time, the policy of vigorously developing luxury cars has formed a layered automobile culture.
Editor's comment: 1978, this 5L/ 100km mini-car independently developed by China officially withdrew from the historical stage and was completely eliminated. Few people can remember what it looks like now. It is said that Haiyan SW7 10 only produced 100 sets, but this statement has never been verified. Perhaps because of this, this mini-car is not so widely known, but it is the indelible ancestor of China mini-car and has great historical significance.
