The A-pillar is the pillar on both sides of the front windshield. The A-pillar belongs to the body frame and can protect the members in the car in the event of a collision. The A-pillar is generally made of hot-formed steel.
The body consists of a body frame and a body cover, including front and rear crossmembers, engine cover, trunk lid, front fenders and four doors. The roof and rear wings are welded to the body frame, so the roof and rear wings also belong to the body frame.
After removing the body panels, all that remains is the body frame. At the front, there are two wing spars and two track beams, and in front of the tracks there are anti-collision steel beams. There are also crossbars at the rear of the carriage.
Note:
The cabin of a car is like a birdcage. The passenger cabin consists of A-pillars, B-pillars, C-pillars, roof side beams and roof. The passenger compartment must be strong enough to protect the occupants in the event of a crash.
When buying a second-hand car, if the car's body panels are damaged in an accident, it cannot be called an accident car. Such a car can be purchased. If the body frame of the car is damaged due to an accident, it will be classified as an accident car, so consumers are advised not to buy such a used car.
