Large-scale production of almonds has not yet formed in northern China, and almonds are mainly concentrated in southern Xinjiang.
Since 1950s, China Academy of Sciences and other scientific research units have introduced almonds, including 1956, 1965 and 1974. Beijing Botanical Garden, Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, introduced 10 varieties from the former Soviet Union, Italy and France for grafting trial planting in Beijing. From 1964 Tianjin Tea Native Products Import and Export Corporation introduced seeds from Italy, France and Albania in order to expand the export of wood kernels, and entrusted Beijing Botanical Garden to carry out experiments. From 1974, scions were introduced to Beijing, Xi and Yinchuan for grafting experiments.
1965 Beijing Botanical Garden expanded the trial planting of successful varieties of the former Soviet Union in Yangjiaping Forest Farm, Zhuolu County, Hebei Province, 1974 grafted Italian scions there. The plants introduced by each unit in the early stage can basically grow, complete stage development, blossom and bear fruit. However, due to the high temperature and humidity in these provinces, plants are prone to diseases, branches stop dormancy late, and are vulnerable to freezing injury during wintering, so the fruit yield is greatly reduced.
The trial planting in Yangjiaping Forest Farm in Hebei Province grew well, but it failed to develop because of more flowers and less fruits. Xi 'an Botanical Garden has also set up experimental cultivation sites in Qinling Mountain and Daba Mountain respectively, and the results are similar to those in Beijing, but there is no large-scale development. ?
In recent years, some units in inland provinces of China have begun to take an interest in the characteristic fruit trees in Xinjiang. Some are organizing forces to declare projects to national or local provinces and cities, and some are introducing almond breeding from abroad or Xinjiang, such as China Academy of Forestry (Zhengzhou) Economic Forest Research and Development Center, Zhengzhou Fruit Research Institute of China Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Beijing Forestry University, Hebei Agricultural University, Hebei Agricultural Vocational and Technical College, Zhongnong Chunyu High-tech Co., Ltd. of China Academy of Agricultural Sciences, etc. In addition, there are also many seedling farms that are cultivating and selling almond seedlings.

Biological value of almond
1, protect skin
Scientific research shows that almond is one of the most nutritious foods containing vitamin E, and it is a healthy food rich in vitamin E and flavonoid antioxidants. A handful of almonds (28 grams or 23 tablets) can provide 7.3 milligrams of vitamin E (equivalent to half of the daily requirement of human body). Vitamin E can effectively fight free radicals, play a role in moisturizing, caring skin and delaying aging.
2, good for heart health
Up to 70% unsaturated fatty acids in almonds can help reduce the level of "bad" cholesterol. Eating almonds can effectively reduce the cholesterol and triglyceride content of human body and reduce the potential threat of heart attack.
3. Help intestinal health
Relevant research results show that almonds have the characteristics of prebiotics, which can improve intestinal health and promote defecation by increasing intestinal beneficial bacteria.
Step 4 control your weight
The British Journal of Nutrition published a research team led by Dr Richard Matters, a professor of food and nutrition at Purdue University. The results show that: firstly, eating almonds will make people feel full obviously, which will help to control the intake of other high-calorie foods; Secondly, the dietary fiber contained in almonds reduces the fat absorption rate, thus effectively controlling weight.
5. Maintain blood sugar level.
It is found that people who eat almonds for breakfast will feel fuller after breakfast and lunch, and control their blood sugar concentration effectively, compared with those who don't add almonds for breakfast. The results of this study can help pre-diabetic patients to correct the habit of overeating and improper eating behavior, and reduce the risk of aggravation.
