The method is as follows.
1. Spring is the budding period of apricot trees. It is necessary to prune off the new buds at the top of the branches to promote the budding of side branches. Summer is the growth period of almond trees, and branches that grow too densely need to be pruned to enhance the light transmittance and ventilation of the plants. In autumn, dead branches, weak branches, and diseased branches of apricot trees need to be pruned to promote the growth and development of the plant. In winter, the side branches of apricot trees need to be shortened to reduce plant nutrient consumption.
2. At the end of May and early June, dry and set the tips, select 7-12 tips with good angles, and erase the rest. When the new shoots grow to 40 centimeters, select 2-4 key ones for cultivation, and top off the rest of the new shoots to promote 2 shoot growths. Repeat the topping on the upright shoots on the back, and remove any excessive branches that are too dense.
3. During the fruiting period, trees should be appropriately dense and thin according to the branch growth and the spatial conditions of various parts of the crown to maintain stable fruiting parts and growth potential. Retract weak main branches, side branches, perennial auxiliary branches, fruiting branch groups, and drooping branches in areas with strong branches to restore growth momentum.
