Hedong in Changsha refers to the regional division with Xiangjiang River as the boundary. East of Xiangjiang River is Hedong, and west of Xiangjiang River is Hexi. In Changsha, the main stream of Xiangjiang River flows from Zhaoshan in Xiangtan County to the southwest border of Changsha County, and enters the suburbs of Changsha through Jiuqu Yellow River, Muyun City and Dongyao Port. In Changsha county, the flow rate is 10.5km .. and then it runs through the urban area from south to north, and exits at the Qiaokou of Wangcheng county. The length of crossing the city is 74 kilometers, during which 15 tributaries flow into Xiangjiang River, among which Liuyang River, Laodao River, Jinjiang River and Weishui River are the larger tributaries.
In the east of Changsha, there are Li Anyun Mountain, Dawei Mountain and Jiuling Mountain, which are arranged in the northeast-southwest direction with parallel canyons. There are more than 50 peaks above 800 meters above sea level, with the highest peak at Qixingling 1607.9 meters above sea level.
