Breeding and cuttage propagation of Rosa macrophylla 1
Rosa macrophylla can be propagated by cutting, which is suitable for early spring. When cutting, choose the substrate made of river sand and garden soil to cut healthy branches with three or four leaves. The white pulp flowing from the wound was dried and coated with plant ash. After drying in the shade, directly insert the substrate for watering.
2. Tissue culture
In the tissue culture of Rosa roxburghii, the ovary of flowers is usually selected for propagation. Tissue culture is faster and produces more plants, but the quality of Rosa davurica is poor, which is suitable for large-scale propagation.
3. Rational fertilization
Rosa macrophylla doesn't like thick fertilizer, so it only needs to apply decomposed pancake fertilizer 1 time every 3-4 weeks in the growth period, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer 1 ~ 2 times in the bud pregnancy to promote flower color, and apply thin fertilizer 2-3 times a year in spring and reduce fertilizer application in autumn.
Step 4 trim and reshape
Rosa macrophylla blooms at the top of new branches. If plants want to blossom more, they should be pruned properly. Pruning should be carried out after flowering, and the branches that are too long and grow irregularly should be pruned to promote the germination of new branches and ensure the quantity and quality of the next flowering.
