? We gave birth to a little mother with cleft lip and palate. After waiting for a long time, the baby finally had an operation, but the child kept crying. The night after the operation, both children and parents were in pain. Many mothers also cried with their children in their arms that night. When the band-aid was torn off the next day, the doctor told us to clean the wound and keep it clean, which would help the wound heal and reduce the formation of scars. Also, when the stitches were removed, because there was blood on the wound, the doctor didn't see it, so it was not removed at all. There is also inflammation because the wound is not cleaned. There is also because the wound was not cleaned in time after the operation, and the scab was not handled properly. The scab of the wound was too serious. It is possible that a new wound was pulled out at the scab when the stitches were removed.
I have been paying attention to various problems of wound care since the beginning of ice cleft lip. Whether it is normal saline or hydrogen peroxide washing, it seems that it is not easy to operate. Whether it is the postoperative nursing plan of the Ninth Hospital or the nursing guidance of Huaxi, it is only physiological saline plus hydrogen peroxide. Some mothers said, will adding hydrogen peroxide make children very painful? Maybe. I used hydrogen peroxide when I was freezing, but there was not much resistance. Because at that time, unlike you now, the hospital had normal saline distribution, and you wouldn't have a nurse to help clean the wound when you were in the hospital. I knew I had to use normal saline to clean the wound, but the hospital didn't send it at that time, so I asked Bao Dad to buy it outside. As a result, he found many pharmacies and didn't sell them. It turned out that this thing was not sold in the pharmacy, so I asked him to buy it in a small clinic, but I didn't sell it to him. He asked some doctors and friends, and friends said that buying hydrogen peroxide was good for him. Well, then I use hydrogen peroxide. I also checked the relevant information. Some hospitals do suggest that hydrogen peroxide can be used after cleft lip and palate surgery. When the blood scab is too serious, hydrogen peroxide can better remove the blood scab because there are some bubbles in hydrogen peroxide. Can stay on the wound for a longer time, can better soak the blood scab soft, and then remove it with a cotton swab. However, it is difficult to clean the severe scab by soaking it with cotton swabs.
However, the nursing of postoperative wounds has always been the most talked about by mothers in the group. I searched online for postoperative care of cleft lip, and found the method of nursing care of cleft lip and palate in Chang Gung Hospital of Taiwan Province Province. Personally, I think this kind of nursing method is also good. After the operation, mothers are afraid to clean the wound, but if they don't clean it, they will wash their children carefully. Even so, they are not very clean. We can directly use the nursing methods of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.
Wet dressing with normal saline gauze and regular replacement will not only be painless, but also help to reduce the swelling of the wound and ensure its cleanliness. The principle of wet compress of physiological saline is siphon effect caused by evaporation of physiological saline. Absorbing exudate, blood and growing bacteria on gauze and changing gauze every 4-6 hours can keep the wound clean and reduce the growth of bacteria. When wet dressing with gauze of normal saline, it is not necessary to apply ointment to the wound, but applying ointment blocks the siphon effect of wet dressing. (This paragraph is a copy of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.)
Just like sticking orthodontic tape, stick some artificial skin on both sides, put gauze in the right place of the wound size, overlap several layers, stick waterproof tape on it, soak it, then quickly stick it on the child's wound and change it regularly.
No matter how you treat the child's wound in the end, the result is the same. I hope the children can recover better and smile again!
