Interview with the author //Miki .. This article thanks Dr. Lin Zhengxian for his professional advice.

How to form the nasty acne scar?

There are four kinds of acne scars, including dark brown scars caused by pigmentation, red scars caused by severe inflammation of acne, convex scars with thick appearance and concave scars similar to the surface of the moon. The first two kinds of scars are not convex or concave, only the skin color changes, so they are not real scar tissue. Even without treatment, it can gradually fade over time, which is the so-called "false acne scar". The latter two kinds of scars belong to real scar tissue. Because they are completely different from the original skin tissue, we can only try our best to improve the appearance in clinic and make it look closer to the original skin state.

Black scar → actively improve pigmentation

Dr. Lin Zhengxian pointed out that "black scar" is the inflammation of acne, which causes melanin to deposit in the dermis and produce pigmentation. Therefore, the focus of treatment is to block the formation of melanin and restore the melanin that has been produced. It is suggested that skin care products, ointments or preparations containing azaleas, kojic acid, L- vitamin C, arbutin, etc. It can be applied properly, and moderate sun protection can accelerate the fading of black scars. In terms of medical beauty treatment, various pigment laser technologies can be selected for treatment, including rubidium Jacob laser, Alexander laser, ruby laser, picosecond laser and intense pulsed light, all of which can be used to improve melanin deposition.

Red scar → make skin blood vessels contract and recover.

"Red scar" is caused by inflammation of the skin, which causes blood vessels to dilate and makes the skin appear red. Will gradually fade over time, but the time of fading varies from person to person. Some people will fade in a month or two, while others will take several years. At present, there are no skin care products that can shrink blood vessels. Therefore, for the "red scar", Dr. Lin Zhengxian suggested receiving laser phototherapy such as pulsed dye laser and intense pulsed light, in order to see more significant results. Because the red blood cells in the microvessels of red scar have "oxygen-containing heme", they can absorb the wavelength of pulsed dye laser, convert light energy into heat energy, heat it up, and promote blood vessel contraction, thus achieving the effect of red desalination.

Convex scar → avoid excessive scar proliferation

"Protruding scar", also called "hypertrophic scar" or "crab's foot swelling", is caused by abnormal repair of acne wound, which leads to excessive accumulation of scar tissue and skin protruding outwards. In addition to the commonly used cryotherapy, Dr. Lin Zhengxian suggested that dermabrasion laser, scar-removing needle and local injection of botulinum-like bacteria can also significantly improve scars. If there are raised scars with red texture, dye laser treatment can be used to improve the red color.

It is urgent to fill the sunken scar.

As for "concave scar", it belongs to "atrophic scar". The reason is that the original inflammation of acne is too serious. Even if the acne has healed, the severely damaged tissue can not be filled back, forming a pull-down fibrous tissue, which makes the skin defect droop and produces unevenness.

Therefore, compared with the first three acne scars, the treatment of concave scars is more complicated. In the past, the traditional dermabrasion laser was commonly used, and its principle was to smooth the gap between the surrounding normal skin and the cavity. Not only does it take a long time to recover, but East Renye Fang is prone to produce inflammatory pigment deposits, and even the face turns red due to unfavorable wound recovery. Related sequelae may last for six months to one year.

Dr. Lin Zhengxian pointed out that there are two main steps to deal with "concave scar" effectively and gently. One is to "soften and break the pulled fibrous tissue", and the other is to "fill the concave tissue". Shuttle laser, picosecond laser and electric wave skin lift can soften the scar, interrupt the fibrotic tissue, and at the same time produce slight tissue repair, further * * * collagen proliferation and fill the sunken scar. In the past, dermabrasion laser would produce wounds, so care should be taken after operation to avoid infection. Shuttle laser treatment has low pain and no obvious wound, and the recovery period only takes one week. As for picosecond laser and radio waves, there is no wound, no repair period is needed, and normal life can be achieved after operation. However, it is still recommended to rest for a few days after operation, pay attention to sunscreen and moisturizing, which is helpful for skin repair.

However, some sunken scar tissues collapsed badly, and even after laser phototherapy and electric wave therapy, there was still no obvious effect. Therefore, children's eye acupuncture can be considered to relieve the collagen hyperplasia extracted from the face, or hyaluronic acid and collagen can be used locally to directly fill the concave part, which can have a quick and obvious effect. In view of the bowl-shaped concave scar caused by excessive stretching of fibrous tissue, because laser phototherapy can't soften the tissue, physical therapy can be used, including flying needle roller or subcutaneous cutting with blade needle, which can interrupt fibrous tissue and make the concave hole float naturally, and then laser phototherapy or hyaluronic acid and other fillers can be applied to effectively improve it.

Treatment of acne scars Prevention is more important than treatment.

But the highest principle of treating acne scars is "prevention is more important than treatment". When acne and skin inflammation occur, you should avoid squeezing acne yourself, and directly find a dermatologist to properly handle it in a sterile environment to avoid infection and further reduce the generation of acne scar tissue. Dr. Lin Zhengxian further provided "three prescriptions for acne scars": normal work and rest, staying up late, avoiding spicy food, reducing high-fat and high-sugar diet, eating more fruits and vegetables, deep-sea fish and green tea, all of which help stabilize the inflammatory state of the skin.

So, in order to completely improve annoying acne scars, how should consumers choose the right dermatologist? Dr. Lin Zhengxian said that a professional doctor, in addition to experience, technology and word of mouth, should also be able to evaluate the acne scars of different types, distribution, size and depth on the same face, and plan customized treatment plans according to the patient's acceptance of the repair period. This is the real profession.

Still trying to cover up acne scars? Do you still feel inferior because of this? As long as you seek the assistance of a professional dermatologist and receive correct treatment, you can sweep away acne scars and find smooth and tender skin!
