In the process of cultivation, we made full use of the characteristics of strong germination and pruning resistance of new branches of Fraxinus mandshurica, and carried out pruning and plastic cultivation experiments, which were successful. After pruning, the spherical and clustered Fraxinus mandshurica trees have created more development space for the popularization and application of Fraxinus mandshurica. Take spherical ash as an example to introduce:
First, pruning and shaping.
1. Seedling selection: when selecting plants, choose Fraxinus mandshurica seedlings with straight trunk, DBH 3-4 cm and good growth condition.
2. Fixed stem: Generally, the plants are cut off in early spring, and the height of fixed stem is between1.0-2.0m according to different needs (the clump trees should be cut off from the base).
3. Pruning: After entering the growth period, the plant will sprout 2-4 main branches from the trunk. When the length of the main branch is greater than 10 ~ 15cm, the main branch is cut short first, and then the side branches are cut short (according to the different requirements for tree shape, pay attention to the different pruning intensity), so that the tree shape of the plant can be obtained after 3-4 pruning. After defoliation in autumn, according to the specific situation of each tree, 1 to 2 times of meticulous pruning (including pruning of internal branches and overlapping branches) can generally be formed. Pruned ash trees have dense branches and leaves, like deliberately carved lanterns.
Second, the application of greening
Fraxinus mandshurica with spherical shape is suitable for roadside planting in factories, campuses and green spaces, clustered on lawns and the edges of lawns, planted alone in residential areas and in front of small buildings, and can also be used with other plants for landscaping.
