Surgical shortcomings of prosthetic rhinoplasty
Disadvantages of augmentation rhinoplasty with silicone prosthesis;

1, silicone prosthetic rhinoplasty material is hard and can't completely match skin and cartilage in touch, so there will be some astringent feeling when touching;

2. Because the silicone prosthesis rhinoplasty material is transparent and can reflect light, especially under strong light, once the silicone prosthesis is implanted in the shallow layer of the nose, it will appear that the prosthesis has a shadow, and others can see at a glance that cosmetic plastic surgery has been done;

3. Silicone prosthetic rhinoplasty materials will have certain reactions to people with allergies, such as obvious rejection, persistent wounds, accompanied by pus and other problems;

4. Because the silicone prosthesis is hard, it may cause the prosthesis to wear out of the body and expose.

The following factors can lead to prosthesis exposure:

① The nasal tip filling is too high, the blood vessels around the nose are dilated and congested, and the skin becomes thinner;

② The silicone nose mold is too long, and the nose root is not completely peeled off. The upper end of the model is placed in the subcutaneous cavity, and the surrounding is not firmly fixed. Under the action of gravity, the nose mold hangs down to the nose end, and the skin at the tip of the nose column bulges, turns white and proliferates for a long time, puncturing the skin and exposing silicone rubber;

③ In addition, the silicone rubber mold on the nose post is too thick, and the prosthesis repaired by solid silicone rhinoplasty is not smooth and has a sharp edge. When the distal end of the column is not implanted with the anterior nasal spine, it bends and curls when implanted between alar cartilages, or there is insufficient peeling here, and the column is malpositioned. It often happens that the silica gel mold pierces the nasal mucosa or pierces the nasal vestibule skin, so that the silica gel is exposed.

The disadvantages of expanding nasal augmentation:

1, rhinoplasty is cured, and rhinoplasty material is integrated with human body, which is more difficult to take out than silicone rubber. Of course, because one-time operation can be maintained permanently, this problem will only occur when the effect of rhinoplasty is not satisfactory and another operation is needed;

2. Expanding rhinoplasty is more expensive than silicone rubber;

3, it is difficult to shape, so sculpture needs experienced rhinoplasty doctors.
